Using an inexpensive $70 USB device, it’s easy to expand your desktop computer and enjoy 2, 3, even 4 screens. This has been one of the most productivity enhancing improvements I’ve ever made to my system.
Just added a $70 StarTech USB video adapter to my office PC and expanded to three screens. My productivity doubled when I went to two long ago… somehow I doubt I’ll be 3x as good this time around (grin). Here’s how I’ve got them setup:
- I use one screen for Gmail, GoogleApps and browsing,
- the second for my web CRM,
- and the third for Skype calling, chats and desktop video conferencing / watching web video
- and audio transcription with the ‘Dragon‘ – my Plantronics Pro Plus headset binds to the PC for simultaneous use with Skype voice/video and with the Dictation software.
