Kristen’s a board-certified Internal Medicine physician serving as a Medical Director for West Virginia Unicare (a division of Elevance Health) managing Medicaid services in WV.
Prior to this, Kristen served on the faculty of the WVU School of Medicine for over 8 years, with 5 years as the Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency program (WVU Charleston Campus) located at Charleston Area Medical Center.
Kristen’s worked over 17 years as an Internal Medicine physician, providing inpatient acute care as a Hospitalist at CAMC. She’s also worked in rural outpatient clinics in West Virginia.
Kristen is a 2005 graduate of West Virginia University School of Medicine. She completed undergraduate studies in Biology at Alderson-Broaddus College in Philipi, WV and has served on the A-B Alumni Council.

Charleston Area Medical Center – established in 1972, CAMC is a nonprofit, 1,103-bed regional referral center made up of six hospitals:
CAMC General Hospital, CAMC Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, CAMC Memorial Hospital, CAMC Plateau Medical Center, CAMC Teays Valley Hospital and CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital, as well as the CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine and the CAMC Foundation.

CAMC Center for Academic Medicine
The CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine provides continuing medical education, outreach education and research support to physicians and allied medical professionals as well as patient and consumer health service projects in West Virginia and the region. CAMC is a regional campus for the WVU School of Medicine and West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.
The Institute also operates a School of Nurse Anesthesia affiliated with Marshall University, as well as 22 graduate medical education residency/fellowship programs and an internship program sponsored by CAMC.
The CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine has 21 accredited programs. There are 18 ACGME accredited programs, two ASHP accredited pharmacy programs, one ASHP candidate status pharmacy program and an APA accredited program.
Additionally, CAMC sponsors three pharmacy residency programs, a clinical psychology internship and six fellowships.
