It’s always good to catch up with my best friend Rob White. Rob had the opportunity a couple of years ago to move his healthcare technology business to Fort Meyers, Florida. We’ve been friends from college since 1990. Rob majored in math and me in computer science, and both of our careers have been in starting/building/growing successful software/technology companies.
Rob only gets back to West Virginia every now and then to visit his family, so we always enjoy the chance to catch up and grab a coffee. Skype keeps us connected the rest of the time and the video calls have been helpful to maintain the friendship over the distance. Rob’s family has seven children and Kristen and I have two – so I tap him on the shoulder from time to time for some parenting advice. We also chat about the latest happenings in business and technology each day for 10 to 15 minutes.
Rob is truly one of the hardest working people that I know and has the talent for being a critical thinker, innovative problem solver and attracting great people to join his team. He’s also very committed husband and father to his kids. All around I’m proud to call them my best friend. (Except when he texts me pictures of palm trees on the beach when it is icy and snowy here..)
